'Love Lights a Tree' accepting local donations

— Thanks to all of the love in our area, Gravette is celebrating the 17th year of “Love Lights a Tree.”

Ruth Foster, chairperson for the event, invites everyone to join in this year’s tree lighting. The tree will be lit at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, in the Gravette Centennial Park.

Red, white and blue lights will decorate the tree, along with names of families and friends. White lights are in memory of those who have died, red lights honor the survivors and blue lights are for our military or anyone you would like to remember during this holiday season.

“Love Lights a Tree” is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. A $5 donation is suggested for each light. When sendingin your information and donation, please include the name of the person to be honored on the tree, what color light should be featured, your relationship to the person and your name.

The donations collected will go to research programs and serve the American Cancer Society of Northwest Arkansas.

Please send your information to Ruth Foster/Love Lights a Tree, P.O. Box 116, Gravette, AR 72736 or contact Coleen Dickinson or Mary Beth Mitchell.

Special thanks go to the Gravette city crew which helps accomplish this project each year.

“Come and enjoy this special event and help celebrate this loving holiday season,” Ruth said. “We appreciate your continued support. Love truly lights our tree !”
