Gentry teams have busy week

— It is another busy week in athletic competitions for Gentry, but this week’s events occur after press deadlines for this issue of the Eagle Observer.

Both the senior boys’ and girls’ basketball teams will be playing in tournaments, the boys at Greenland, and the girls at Van Buren.

The Lady Pioneers were scheduled to play at 4 p.m. Tuesday. The boys’ game was yet to be announced.

In junior high action, both boys’ and girls’ teams will be playing in the Benton County Tournament in Decatur. The junior Pioneers are to play their first game at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday. The girls were to play Tuesday at 6 p.m.

In wrestling, the Pioneer varsity and junior varsity grapplers were to take onBerryville and Rogers-Heritage in a home match (in the Gentry High School gymnasium) Tuesday between 5 and 9 p.m.

On Thursday, the Gentry wrestling teams will face Har-Ber, Springdale and Miami, Okla., at Har-Ber High School in Springdale. The tournament is scheduled to run from 5 to 9 p.m., as well.

The Gentry High School cheerleaders have a competition at Har-Ber High School on Saturday.

Bowling practice was also set to begin on Monday.
