The Maysville E.H. Club met at the community building for its November meeting. Nikki Crawley called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone, in the absence of our president.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Gwen Singleton followed by an inspirational thought entitled “The Color of Friendship” by Gwen.

Bert Ballman gave an interesting lesson on Stretching Food Dollars. Some tips were: Use coupons when you can but don’t be a hoarder - shop only for what you need. Remember a bargain is only a bargain if you can actually use the purchase. Compare alternative brands. Many times store brands costless than name brands even when you use coupons. Be sure and read the nutritional fact labels. They are a trustworthy source of information, as no marketing hype is allowed there. Frozen foods are usually less expensive than fresh produce.

Eye openers given were: Clean oven racks with Pam. Pots and pans can be easily cleaned by putting them in a plastic bag with a small amount of ammonia on a paper towel and left overnight.

Bert also showed a piece of jewelry that you could place perfume in. She told a story about its origin.

Roll call was answered by telling our favorite buy of the season. Katherine Tucker read the minutes and gave the financial report. Old business discussed was progress on flooring installation.

A report was given on County Council and the Indian taco dinner. Melinda Crawley talked about the county project book and if we wanted to have a club project book. We will consider it more next time.

Mary Crawley drew the quarter package and the meeting was dismissed with the benediction.
