4-H Club, Soles4Souls partnering to gather soles and to help souls

— Town & Country 4-H Club members Carson Alsup, Joshua Lockhart, Noah Smith and Ashton Yarbrough and fellow club members have teamed up with Soles4Souls to collect and distribute new and gently used shoes to those living in poverty or recovering from natural disasters.

The 4-H club is asking community members to clean out their closets and storage areas and place their unwanted but useable shoes in dona- tion boxes which will be located at Bank of Gravett, R & R Solutions, Heri- tage Baptist Church and ARVESTBankinGravette between Oct. 1 and noon on Oct. 6. Club members will pick up the donation

boxes and forward them to Soles4Souls for distri- bution worldwide to those in need.

Soles4Souls, Inc., is committed to collecting and distributing shoes to people living in extreme poverty and recovering from natural disasters. The shoe charity pro- vides one pair of shoes to a person in need every 7 seconds. Since 2005, Soles4Souls has distrib- uted more than 13 million pairs of shoes because of the generosity and com- mitment of people and organizationslikeTown& Country 4-H Club.

Soles4Souls believes partners like Town & Country 4-H Club wil challenge others to be- come a force of change by helping the charity cater to the evolving needs o

the global community. The shoe charity recognizes its success is the result of individuals and industry partners such as Bank of Gravett, R & R Solutions, Heritage Baptist Church, and ARVEST Gravette, and Town & Country 4-H Club members who clean out closets and warehouses so that individuals around the world can have a bet- ter life through America’s excess.

Club members will be providing boxes to collect new or gently worn foot- wear and/or donations to make a tangible difference through the gift of shoes. Every donation will sup- port the charity’s initia- tive to distribute shoes to those in need.

“With tragedies such as the earthquakes in countries like Haiti and Japan, on top of the enormous needs elsewhere, we can use the estimated 1.5 bil-

lion shoes taking up space in the closets of ordinary people to change the world one pair at a time,” said founder and CEO of Soles4Souls, Wayne Elsey.

“We need partners like Town & Country 4-H to get behind Soles4Souls,” Elsey added. “Donating shoes is one of the simplest yet profound acts you can do, because it will greatly improve someone’s life in the most difficult of times.”
