NORTHWEST ARKANSAS — Don’t forget Thursday, Oct. 11, at 7 p.m., there will be a meeting at the Hiwasse Community Center concerning the future of the Hiwasse Post Office. Be sure and attend, let your voice be heard.

There was light sleet reported in the area on Saturday, causing the Wiener Dog Races to be canceled at Loch Lomond. Theyhave been rescheduled for Oct. 13.

Those having lunch with me on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Ward Carrier, Mr. and Mrs. Lofty Carrier, Mr. and Mrs. Brian Carrier and Gabe Carrier.

Dean Fletcher is slightly improved. He is still at the home of his daughter, Geneva Hamilton.

Oct. 10, 1865, John Wesley Hyatt patented the billiard ball.
