12th annual Octoberfest Pageants held at Gentry High on Saturday

— Young ladies and one young man from Gentry and surrounding communities vied for Octoberfest Pageant titles in the 12th annual Miss Octoberfest pageants onSaturday.

The pageants, held in the Gentry High School auditorium, included categories for girls and boys, ages 0-18, though a lack of contestants in the 16-18-yearold category caused that title to go unclaimed.

Winners in Saturday’s pageants were as follows:

◊Teeny Tiny Miss (0-11 months) - Emma Mae Young;

◊ Tiny Miss (12-24 months) - Ella Moore, with Leann Chamberlin winning audi ence favorite;

◊ Junior Tiny Miss

(2-3 years) - Chloey

Whitely, with Gabriella

Savage first runner-up,Channing Renfro second runner-up, and Kennedy Adams audience favorite;

◊Junior Tiny Mister (2-3 years) - Robby Collins;

first r unnerup, Brynn Cordeirosecond◊ Little Miss (4-6 years)

-Graycie Wright-Dillard, with McKennaBerryrunner-up, and Makena Womack audience favorite;

Junior Miss ( 7-9 years)- Raven Newton, with AftonFinnell first runner-up, Ryleigh Bunch second runner-up, and Hailey Clark audience favorite; Junior Teen Miss (10-12 years) - Victoria Barnes, with Ann Dee Holt first runner-up and audience favorite, and Taryn Capps secondrunner-up; and◊Young Miss (13-15 years) -Whitney Holt, with Samantha Bailey first runnerup, Micayla Hendricksrunnerup, and Sydney Hodges Miss Congeniality. Whitney Holt was also the audience favorite. Mistress of ceremonies was Jessica Jech, the 2008 Miss Octoberfest. Sashes for the winners were made and provided by Tina and Sarah Mills. Tina and Sarah have been make ing and providing the sashes without charge for all 12 years

of the pageant.

The Gentry High School cheerleaders sponsored the pageants, along with many other individuals and businesses from the community.
