DECATUR — Three Decatur athletes earned medals at the 4-2A district cross country meet in Magazine last Saturday.
Sophomore Carlos Ocampo placed third in the district meet, senior Josh Hare placed tenth and Kyle Shaffer earned a fourth place medal on the junior high team.
The Decatur High School formed a cross country team this fall for the first time in several years.
Six of Decatur’s 11 team members attended the track meet, according to coach James Garner.
An away Friday night football game made it difficult for the other team members to participate in the meet, he explained.
