Austin accepted into pharmacy school

— James Harold Austin of Gravette, son of Kenneth and Paulette Austin, has been accepted into the Fall 2012 professional class of the Southwestern Oklahoma State University College of Pharmacy at Weatherford.

Fifty students were admitted into the Doctor of Pharmacy program for the 2012 fall semester. The class has an averagecumulative grade point average of 3.68 and is composed of 24 women and 26 men.

Minimum requirements to make application include completion of at least 61 semester hours of specified pre-pharmacy courses with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.50.

The selection process is competitive and based on a number of factors. These include, but are not limited to, science and mathematics grade average, overall grade average, ACT or SAT scores,Pharmacy College Admission Test (PCAT) scores, motivation, character and communication skills.

Austin is a 2008 graduate of Gravette High School.
