Residents urged to skip a lunch but give a meal

— Arvest Bank and Gravette Gardens are holding a “Skip a Lunch, Give a Meal” food and fund-raising drive to benefit Arvest’s 1 Million Meals initiative.

Instead of going out to lunch, Arvest and Gravette Gardens are asking everyone to visit the bank during their lunch breakand donate the money they would typically spend on lunch to the 1 Million Meals campaign.

Participants may stop by the Arvest Bank at 506 First Avenue in Gravette to make their donation from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 21.

Arvest associates will be collecting non-perishable food items and monetary donations to feed the hungry. Everyone is invited to attend.

1 Million Meals is an Arvest Bank initiative to raise one million meals for the hungry across the bank’s four-state region - Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. Fortyfour food organizations will benefit from the effort. Every dollar raised provides the equivalent of five meals for those in need.
