Gentry School District’s administrative staff - including the district’s four principals and the federal curriculum coordination - were offered new contracts by the school board at its March 25 meeting.

The contracts of high school principal BraeHarper, middle school principal Larry Cousins, intermediate school principal Denise Waters, elementary school principal Gayla Wilmoth and federal curriculum coordinator Judy Winslett were all renewed for the 2013-2014 school year.

The board also commended the administrators for their service and expressed their appreciation for their hard work for the school district.

In other business, the board accepted the resignation of English as a second language teacher Hannah Millsap, effective at the close of the current school year, and discussed the possibility of installing security cameras at each campus.

According to school superintendent Randy Barrett, the board invited a private security company to come to its April meeting with information on how security cameras could be installed and used at all of the school district campuses for additional security.

Barrett said he believed it would be possible for the district to purchase and install cameras at all of its school campuses for “a workable amount of money.”
