Personal collections to be displayed

GRAVETTE - A special exhibit, “My Collection,” will be on display from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday, April 6, at the Gravette Historical Museum. The event is free and open to the public.

The Museum Commission invites everyone to attend and see private collections of many items, such as vintage cookbooks, stamps, tools, arrowheads, watches, tatting, canes, copper-hat ashtrays and more. Almost 20 exhibitors have agreed to display their collections.

While there, those attending may wish to visit the Historic Kindley Home and also tour the new exhibit hall and look at the special exhibit about World War I Air Ace Captain Field E. Kindley.

Another continuing exhibit isthe picture collection of Gravette High School graduates. Some of Gravette’s earlier graduating classes are not represented in the photos, but recognition listsare on display, even the first Gravette graduating class in 1908.

“There is sure to be something of interest for everyone visiting the museum and especially this special one day exhibit,” said Steven Mitchael, museum commissioner. “And, remember, there is no admission.”
