Rabies Vaccinations

Country View Animal Care of Gravette will hold a rabies vaccination clinic for cats and dogs from 4 to 5:30 p.m., April 24, in the parking lot of the Decatur City Hall. For more information, call 752-3912. Gentry Veterinary Clinic is offering rabies vaccinations by appointment at $5 off the regular price.

Spring Crankup

Tired Iron of the Ozarks will hold its annual spring show April 19-21 at its show grounds, located at 13344 Taylor Orchard Road in Gentry. The show will feature antique tractors, engines, farm equipment, saw mills, blacksmith shop and more. Admission is free.

Chicken Dinner

The Billy V. Hall Senior Activity Center at 1870 Limekiln Road in Gravette will hold a benefit chicken dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 12. The meal will feature a smoked chicken quarter, baked beans, potato salad and biscuit with honey. Cost of the meal is $8, or a half-meal is available to those 12 and under for $4. Proceeds from the meal will be used to benefit the Meals on Wheels program. Carryouts are available.

Open House

The Gravette Board of Education has scheduled open house at Gravette Middle School from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 13. The new addition features a new administration complex, conference room, self-contained special education room, family and consumer science room and four regular classrooms for students.

Entry for open house will be from the west end of the building, and use of the parking lot on the west end is encouraged. Refreshments will be served, and staff members will be available to answer questions.

“Aladdin Jr.” Production

The Gravette High School drama department will present a performance of Disney’s “Aladdin Jr." at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 13.

A second performance will be held at 2:30 p.m.

Sunday, April 14. Both events will be in the GHS Performing Arts Center.

Pee Wee Cheerleaders

A signup for Gravette pee wee cheerleaders will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 14, in the hospitality room at the Arvest Bank in Gravette. Any girl entering pre-K through 6th Grade next year is eligible. Future signups will be held May 11 and June 8 at the same time and location.

GSAC needs custodian

Gentry Senior Activity Center is looking for a part-time custodian. For more information, call 736-0378 or come by the senior center.

Spaghetti Supper

The Maysville E.H. Club is sponsoring a spaghetti supper the evening of Saturday, April 13. Serving of spaghetti, salad, bread and drink will begin at 6 p.m.

Cost for the meal is $5 for adults and $2.50 for children 12 and under. Homemade pies will be available for purchase and there will be a cake walk. Proceeds will help with summer expenses at the community building, such as mowing and higher electric bills.

Talbot Library Workshop

Talbot Library and Museum, in Colcord, Okla., will hold a genealogy workshop at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, covering basic genealogy and basic Cherokee genealogy. Refreshments will be served. For more information, email talbotlibrary@ earthlink.net or call 918-326-4532.

Chili Supper, Pie Auction

Highfill Fire Department will hold a chili supper from 4 to 8 p.m., with a pie auction at 6 p.m., on Saturday, April 20, at the Highfill Fire Station, to assist Don King with medical expenses. King is a Highfill firefighter and former police officer and is currently employed by Benton County Central Communications. Falling Springs Cemetery

The Falling Springs Cemetery will hold its annual cleanup day on Saturday, April 20, at 9 a.m. Patrons of the cemetery are asked to bring tools and come help. A board meeting will follow the cleanup.

Daniel Cemetery Cleanup

Work day at Daniel Cemetery, between Gravette and Hiwasse, will be held Saturday, April 27, at 1 p.m.

Persons interested in cemetery maintenance should bring tools (weedeaters, rakes, etc.) and be prepared to work. Daniel Cemetery is off Hwy. 72 on N. Mt. Pleasant Road.

Spring Cleanup

Decatur will hold it’s annual spring clean up on April 18. Large or bulky waste will be picked up at the curb with regular trash. For more information about what items will be accepted and what items are not allowed, call city hall at 752-3912.

Pickin’ Time

Springtime Pickin’ Time will be held in Gentry and Decatur on May 2 through5. The event is sponsored by the Gentry and Decatur Chambers of Commerce. Participants are encouraged to host garage and rummage sales, as well as antique and collectible events. Anyone wishing to set up in Gentry but not having a space may contact Bev Saunders at 736-2358. Gentry City Council has waived the requirement for garage sale permits for that weekend. Participants are responsible for their own advertising, set up, take down and cleanup.

GUE Musical Date

The Gravette Upper Elementary spring musical, originally scheduled for March 14, has been changed to Tuesday, April 30, at 7 p.m., at the Gravette Schools’ Performing Arts Center.

International Night

Decatur Northside International Night will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m., May 2. Anyone who would like to have a booth or provide entertainment representing a country is asked to contact Leslie Thompson at 752-3981.

Pouring Cats and Dogs

Tailwaggers is holding a “Pouring Cats and Dogs” benefit beer and wine tasting from 5:30 to 8 p.m. April 13. All funds will go towards spaying and neutering animals before adoption through local animal shelters. Tickets are $30 for six pours. Safe buddy tickets are $20. Food will be catered by the Raven Girls. The event will be held in the Moore Barn at 20690 Bruce Rutherford Road in Siloam Springs. Tickets can be purchased in advance on Facebook, through paypal, or in person at the John Lee Law Firm in Siloam Springs.

Gem & Mineral Show

The Northwest Arkansas Gem & Mineral Society will hold its Spring Gem and Mineral Show April 13-14 at the Community Building in Siloam Springs, 11 N. Mt. Olive Street. Hours for the show will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for students and children under 8 are free with an adult. There will be door prizes, a silent auction with items from rocks to jewelry and grab bags which children can purchase for $1.
