BENTONVILLE - An 80-year-old Gentry man has been arrested in connection with rape.

Robert William Eaton of 10858 John Zodrow Road was arrested Friday by the Benton County Sheriff’s Office in connection with the class Y felony. He was in the Benton County Jail on Monday, with bond set at $100,000, according to the Sheriff’s Office jail log.

The Sheriff’s Office received a hotline report from the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children’s Division on March 29 regarding allegations a girl had been touched inappropriately.

The girl later was interviewed at the Children’s Advocacy Center and disclosed the sexual abuse, according to the release.
