Rhine named head of Nebraska college

GRAVETTE - Randy Rhine, who spent his youth in Gravette, has been named president of Chadron State College in Chadron, Neb. He graduated from Gravette High School in 1975.

Rhine, who has been serving as interim president since last May, was named to head the college by the Nebraska State College Board of Trustees. He will be officially inaugurated in a ceremony Friday afternoon, April 26.

A graduate of the University of Arkansas, where he received three degrees, including a doctorate, Rhine was a member of the U of A Division of Continuing Education for 12 years. Later he served as assistant to the president at Chadron State College before taking the position as dean of the College of Professional Studies and LifelongLearning at Montana State University at Billings for nine years before filling the position as interim president at Chadron.

Rhine is the son of the late Dr. Richard and Marge Rhine, who lived in Gravette where Dr. Rhine was affiliated with the Gravette Medical Center Hospital. He is the brother of Sandy Hainline-Williams who lives in Gravette.

Randy and his wife Ann are parents of two adult children.
