Many students, as well as teachers, are buzzing about 16-yearold sophomore Shelby Helser. Why? Because she “is a powerhouse of a voice,” said Damayla Cowan. Born in Seattle, Wash., Shelby’s love for singing began already in kindergarten. And, in her 16 years, she has performed in more than 25 plays and musicals.
