SULPHUR SPRINGS – Mayor Greg Barber announced Thursday that two residents of Ward 1 have applied for the Position 1 seat he vacated when he took over as Sulphur Springs' Mayor on Nov. 15.
Two former Sulphur Springs mayors, Harris Steele and Bobby Simon, presented proper documentation and qualify for the Position 1 seat, Mayor Barber said.
The City's Council members will have their chance to pick their choice of the two men for the Ward 1, Position 1, council seat during their regular session scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 12.
