GENTRY -- In spite of the cold, damp weather and brisk breeze on Saturday night, Gentry's annual Christmas parade was held as scheduled and area residents lined the street for the event.

Awards were presented to a number of parade entries. Best Theme went to a float with the theme "Christmas in Arkansas" entered by the Outdoor Adventures 4-H Club of Gentry. Best Lights went to Marcy's Dog Grooming. Best Music was awarded to St. Mary's Aztec Dance Team. And the Grand Prize -- Overall went to White Mouse Puppet Ministries.

The parade was led by the Gentry Pioneers Marching Band and Flag Squad. In addition to the many floats, there were cars, horses, bicycles and trucks.
