Sympathy is extended to the Joyce Peterson family for their loss.

This spell of winter weather has caused churches in the area to cancel services on Sunday.

Gene Roberts has returned home after spending Thanksgiving in Oklahoma with his sister, Linda Fisher. His church family missed him and are very happy to have him home.

At last, after 10 days, I was able to drive my pickup up my drive and go to the store. My son Ward took me to work on Wednesday.

It looked nice to get up Sunday morning and see some bare ground.

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Trey Smith on the birth of triplets this week, two boys and a girl.

Robert Brooks visited with his dad, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Brooks, on Saturday. Others visiting in the Brooks home were Mr. and Mrs. Don Wall, Mr. and Mrs. Ward Carrier, Mr. and Mrs. Brian Carrier, Mike and Gabe Carrier.

Those having lunch with me on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Ward Carrier, Gabe Carrier, Mr. and Mrs. Brian Carrier, Mr. and Mrs. Lofty Carrier, Mr. and Mrs. Skylar Carrier, Jessica and Madison.

Johnny Sandlin is home recovering from surgery on his hand.

Mr. and Mrs. Bill Habermehl have had a rough week health-wise. The family needs your prayers.

Beth Austin is not doing well. She and her family need our prayers.

Attendance in the area churches was moderate last Sunday. Travel was still a little iffy in spots.

Dec. 18, 1865, the 13th Amendment, abolishing slavery went into effect.
