Max Andrews

Max Andrews, 69, of Colcord, Okla., died Dec. 1, 2013, in Tulsa, Okla.

He was born July 17, 1944, in Rogers, to Lester "Bill" and Bessie Lucillia Grimes Andrews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Rafe Andrews; and four brothers.

He is survived by three children, Tabatha Andrews and Daphena Turnbull of Colcord, Jerry Undernehr of Rogers; 11 brothers and sisters; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were Dec. 20 at Benton County Funeral Home in Rogers.

Harold Andrews

Harold L. Andrews, 54, of Watts, Okla., died Dec. 9, 2013, in Springdale.

He was born July 29, 1959, in Gateway, to Lester "Bill" and Bessie Lucillia Grimes Andrews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Ely, Junior, Leon, Max and Billy Ray Andrews.

He is survived by 11 brothers and sisters, Joe Duty of Rogers, Pearl Powers of Pea Ridge, Wayne Andrews of Siloam Springs, Betty McMahan of Colcord, Okla., Larry Andrews of Grove, Okla., Carl Andrews of Colcord, Judy Adams of West Siloam Springs, Okla., Rick Andrews of Watts, Anita Stacy of Claremore, Okla., Edward Andrews of West Siloam Springs, and Lena Andrews of Jay, Okla.

Memorial services were Dec. 20 at Benton County Funeral Home, Rogers.

Beth Austin

Beth Ann Austin, 40, of Gravette, died Dec. 19, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, Mo.

She was born Aug. 16, 1973, in Bentonville, to Beryl Dean Bertschy and Pamela Sue Stephens Bertschy. She was raised in the Gravette and Hiwasse area. She attended school in the Gravette School District, was raised in the Church of Christ and attended the Sale Barn Church of Decatur. She loved to spend time on the motorcycle with her husband and with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Beryl Bertschy.

She is survived by her husband of 20½ years, Rip Austin, of Gravette; mother, Pam Bertschy of Hiwasse; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ronnie and Janice Austin of Gravette; one son, Jake Austin of Gravette; and daughter, Rian Austin of Gravette.

A graveside service was Dec. 22 at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, Dec. 29, at 2 p.m., at the Boling Barn, 17853 Highway 72 and Stage Coach Road. Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, Bella Vista.

Rose Himsl

Rose Himsl, 81, of Gravette died Dec. 19, 2013, in Bentonville.

She was born Feb. 4, 1932, in St. Joseph, Minn.

Funeral services were Dec. 23 at Benton County Funeral Home, Rogers. Interment followed in the St. Vincent Cemetery in Rogers.

Deanna Dew Lovell

Deanna Dew Lovell, 53, of Springdale, died Dec. 14, 2013, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale.

She was born Aug. 13, 1960, in Bentonville, to Leonard and Patsy McDougal Lovell. She was a caregiver and loved being on the lake. She liked to crochet and collected dolls.

Survivors include one son, Waco Brock of Gravette; her parents, Leonard and Patsy Lovell of Decatur; one brother, Jeff Lovell; one twin sister, Hannah Alleman and husband Michael of Bentonville; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were Dec. 18 at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale. Burial followed in Bentonville Cemetery.

Vernalee Morgan

Vernalee Ardell (Tyler) Morgan, 85, of Yakima, Wash., died Dec. 13, 2013.

She was born July 1, 1928, in Vinita, Okla., to Alvin and Lillian Orlene Tyler. She was raised in Sulphur Springs and married Charles Donald Morgan in Bentonville on Aug. 22, 1947. The family moved to Union Gap, Wash., in 1956, where she worked for Summitview Manor Nursing Home 27 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a son, Charles Wayne; a daughter, Charlotte Lea; three brothers, Robert Tyler, Tommy Tyler and Hubert Tyler; sisters, Louella Dunfee and Mary Sue Liby; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Tyler.

Surviving are one daughter, Peggy (Jim) Maine of Yakima; a son, Donald Morgan and wife Dawn of Aurora, Colo.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Bittle of Yakima, Wanda McDonald of Wichita, Kans., and Joan Lee of Joplin, Mo.; two brothers, Carol Tyler of Yakima, and Alfred (Bill) Tyler of Grove, Okla.

Funeral services were Dec. 21 at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home of Yakima, with burial in West Hills Memorial Park.

Van 'Blue' Philpott

Van Oral "Blue" Philpott, 85, lifelong resident of Decatur, died Dec. 17, 2013, at his home.

He was born June 18, 1928, to Frank Philpott and Violet Wilmoth Philpott Van Bebber. He was a member of the Falling Springs Church of Decatur. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and received a Purple Heart. He was a member of the Howard Perish VFW Post 9834 and the Arkansas Cattleman's Association. He returned to Decatur after his service time and went to work as a truck driver and retired from Walmart in 1993. In addition to truck driving, he and Colene owned a chicken and cattle farm.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Estes M. Philpott; and sister, Roberta Wofford.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Francis Colene Wofford Philpott; one son, Randall Philpott and his wife Patti of Lavaca; two grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services were Dec. 23 at the Wasson Memorial Chapel in Siloam Springs, with Larry Ellis officiating. Burial was at the Falling Springs Cemetery, Decatur.
