— Five members of the Gravette Lions football team were named to All-Conference honors, according to Lion Coach Bill Harrelson. Earning the recognition were Peyton Rose, Marcus Adams, TJ Holt, Gunner Fancher and Brenton Ogle.

“All of these guys are seniors and they will be missed next year, along with the rest of our seniors,” Harrelson said, noting their accomplishments.

“They have meant a lot to our program and will be hard to replace.”

Peyton Rose, linebacker/ fullback, led the defense in tackles and was a three-year starter on defense. Peyton was also nominated to play in the All Star game from our conference as a punter.

Marcus Adams, left guard, was a three-year starter on the offensive line. He led the team in film grade points for the offensive line.

TJ Holt, right guard, was a two-year starter on the offensive line. He led the team in knock down blocks.

Gunner Fancher, center, made all of the line calls for the offensive line and did an excellent job snapping the football.

Brenton Ogle, outside linebacker, was a hard hitter and made plays all over the field.

Gentry Players

From Gentry, Elijah Ramsey and Austin Cochran were named all-conference and to the KURM Dream Team.

“Austin and Elijah will definitely be missed,” said Gentry head football coach Brian Little. “Anytime you lose seniors that have played or started for you all three years, it leaves some gaps. Austin was such an anchor for our offensive line. He knew our system well and made the right calls up front.

“Elijah was equally as valuable on the defensive side of the ball,” Little said. “As the saying goes, he quarterbacked our defense. As the son of our defensive coordinator, Daniel Ramsey, Elijah was an extension of Coach Ramsey on the field.

“Both of these young men were fierce competitors and mentally and physically tough. We will, no doubt, miss having them on the field.”
