Gayle Bridges

Gayle Carl Bridges, 78, of Fayetteville, died Feb. 10, 2013, at Willard Walker Hospice House in Fayetteville.

He was born Jan. 2, 1935, in Decatur, to Delbert Jefferson Bridges and Clarice Mabel Rice Bridges. He was a 1953 graduate of Gentry High School and attended Business College in Tulsa, Okla. He was an accounting clerk for Arkansas Western Gas for more than 40 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Fayetteville.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Davis Bridges of the home; one son, Carl Bridges and wife Lisa of Elkins; one daughter, Clarice Ooten of Fayetteville; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, with Vida Williams officiating. Arrangements are by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.

William Lewis

William Deric Lewis, 86, of Gravette, died Feb. 8, 2013, at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville.

He was born Jan. 28, 1927, in Mullinville, Kan., to Charles William and Edith Alma (Noel) Lewis. He served in the United States Army from 1945 to 1947 and was stationed in Korea.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, William Loyd Lewis.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Martha Frances (Turner) Lewis; four daughters, Thelma (Steve) Duty of Geronimo, Okla., Linda (Virgil) Jones of Gravette, Bethy (Jerry) Slyter of Centerton, Toni (Tim) Hinrichs of Rogers; two sons, James (Lois) Lewis of Gentry, Allen (Lori) Lewis of Bentonville; two sisters, Martha (Leroy) Hendrix of Rogers, Jackie (Art) Johnson, of Fremont, Neb.; one brother, Lee (Doris) Lewis of Rogers; 14 grandchildren; 23 greatgrandchildren; and one great-greatgrandchild.

Funeral services were Feb. 12 at First Christian Church of Bentonville with burial at Barron Cemetery. Arrangements were at Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services of Rogers.

Frankie Martin, Sr.

Frankie Lee Martin, Sr., 67, of Siloam Springs, died Jan. 29, 2013, at his home.

He was born May 23, 1945, in Greenville, Ky., to Charlie and Helen Martin. He married Betty Lou Gifford on Dec. 29, 1967, in Tahlequah, Okla. He was a Vietnam veteran, having served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from Tyson after 40 years as a night guard. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, working on lawn mowers and collecting die-cast truck models.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Cody DeMoss.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; two daughters, Mischael Martin of the home, Shelia DeMoss and husband Darrell, Jr., of Siloam Springs; two sons, Frankie Lee Martin, Jr., and wife Sara of Springdale, Fred Martin of the home; six grandchildren; one brother, Tommy Martin and wife Becky of Hiwasse.

Funeral services were held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Chapel in Siloam Springs on Feb. 1, with Mike Whorton offciating. Burial was at the Martin Cemetery. Arrangements were by Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Homes.

Myron Ramey

Myron Max Ramey, 85, of Gravette, died Feb. 8, 2013, at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville.

He was born in Natoma, Kan., Dec. 13, 1927, to Max C. Ramey and Dorothea Maria Hackerott Ramey. He was a Marine Corps veteran. He married Ruth Coleen Puryear on April 3, 1949, with the ceremony performed by her grandfather, Henry Reese. He was a union carpenter by trade in Southern California for 37 years and then retired to Gravette in 1991. He was a member of Bella Vista Assembly of God.

He was preceded in death by his parents and six sisters, Marjorie Duncan, Marvel Heistand, Mary Emma Nichols, Myrna Fox and Hertha Jones.

He is survived by his wife, of the home; two sons, Johnny Max Ramey and wife Sharon of Gravette, Kenneth Clarence Ramey and wife Susan of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; and one daughter, Kathern Marie and husband Edward Neal Phelps of Gravette; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Feb. 12 at Bella Vista Assembly of God Church, Bella Vista, followed by a graveside service at Daniels Cemetery, Gravette, officiated by Jonathan Watson. Arrangements were by Bella Vista Funeral Home.

Pearl Ramsey

Pearl Joyce Ramsey, 94, of Colcord, Okla., died Feb. 10, 2013, at Quail Ridge Living Center, Colcord.

She was born March 9, 1918, in Colcord, to Jess A. and Gertrude Ethel January Fairres. She lived most of her life in the Colcord area and later moved to Oaks, Okla. She and Vernon Ramsey were married in September of 1941. She was a lineworker for Peterson Industries for many years. She was a member of the Row Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters and one brother.

Survivors include one son, David Ramsey and wife Wanda of Colcord; two daughters, Deloris Whorton of Kansas, Okla., and Verna Roberts and husband Ken of Broken Arrow, Okla.; eight grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 13, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, with Larry Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in Row Cemetery, Colcord. Arrangements are by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.
