Grace Brown

Grace Brown, 101, of Colcord, Okla., died Feb. 13, 2013, at her home.

She was born Aug. 20, 1911, in Delaware County, Okla., to Gus Tillery and Alice Cannon Tillery. She lived her entire life in Delaware County and was a homemaker. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in West Siloam Springs, Okla. She married Fred O. Brown on Oct. 2, 1934, in Jay, Okla.

She was preceded in death by her husband Fred; one son, Dale Brown; and one grandson, Fredrick Brown.

Survivors include two daughters, Freda Proctor and Joyce Sweet, both of Colcord, Okla.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Blanche Henderson of Colcord; one brother, Dean Tillery of San Antonio, Texas; and one daughter-in-law, Dolly Brown of Colcord.

Funeral services were Feb. 16, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, with Larry Ellis, Darrell Maddox and Keith Harmon officiating. Burial followed at Bell Cemetery, Adair County, Okla. Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.

Bob ‘Cotton’ Clem

Bob Carl “Cotton” Clem, 80, of Fayetteville, died Feb. 12, 2013, at his home.

He was born June 25, 1932, in Woolum, to Norvel and Trudy Nichols Clem. He was a state livestock inspector. He was a member of Robinson Avenue Church of Christ. He served the United States Navy in the Korean conflict. He was involved with Rodeo of the Ozarks and Ozark Junior Rodeo in Harmon and Tontitown, 4-H, the Springdale Riding Club and the Northwest Arkansas Horse Show Association. He was a founding member of the John Shaddox Wagon Train.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Vanis Clem; and two sisters, Deree Cook and Rosie Ferguson.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Beth Clem of the home; one daughter, Carri Scott and husband Jason of Fayetteville; one sister, Jeannie Ritter of Maysville; and two grandchildren.

Graveside services were Feb. 16 at Mount Comfort Cemetery in Fayetteville, with Harry Fitzgerald officiating.

Virgil Ray Wear

Virgil Ray Wear, 59 yearold resident of Decatur, Arkansas, died February 15, 2013 at his home. Born September 23, 1953, in Garden City, Kansas, he was the son of Leland Wear and Elsie May Plummer. After his father died, he was raised by Marion and Elsie Lee in the Gentry area. Ray was a graduate of the University of Arkansas. After graduation he went to work in the accounting department at Peterson Farms in 1979. He held a variety of positions with the company before retiring as Vice President of Finance in 2008.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather, and one sister.

Survivors include two sons: Nick Wear of Decatur, Arkansas, and Chris Wear of Steamboat Springs, Colorado; one granddaughter, Emily Wear of Decatur; six brothers: Cecil Wear of Hawaii, Johnny Wear of Alabama, David Wear of Texas, Frank Lee of Gentry, Arkansas, Walter Wear of Gentry and Joe Lee of Gentry; three sisters: Opal Lewellen of Gentry, Pat McKinley of Colcord, Oklahoma, and Ann Coker of Tennessee; and the last love of his life Gala Sewell.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 22, 2013 at Decatur United Methodist Church, Decatur, Arkansas. Mae Terhune

Mae E. Terhune, 82, died Feb. 17, 2013, at her granddaughter's home in Sulphur Springs after a brief illness.

She was born Aug. 15, 1930, in Goodman, Mo., to Emmet and Janie (Gaston) Lane. She worked at Emerson Electric for 25 ½ years before retiring. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, especially watching them race motorcycles.

She was preceded in death by her son, Donnie Terhune; her grandson, Jeremy Terhune; and four brothers.

She is survived by her son, Jim Terhune of Sulphur Springs; daughter Kay Hartley of Sulphur Springs; two brothers, Vernon Lane of Neosho, Mo., and George Lane of Goodman; three sisters, Virginia Law, Mary Strock and Alice Law, all of Grove, Okla.; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and four great-greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Friday, Feb. 22, at Assembly of God Church in Gravette, with burial to follow at Dow Cemetery. A visitation will be Thursday from 5 until 7 p.m. at the church. Service arrangements are by Callison-Lough Funeral Home, Bentonville.

Jim Whitaker

Jimmy Carl Whitaker, 70, of San Ramon, Calif., died on Feb. 9, 2013, after an extended illness.

He was born in Gentry on Oct. 20, 1942, to Carl and Louise (Kaufman) Whitaker. He graduated from Gentry High School in 1960. After spending three years in the U.S. Navy, he began his career with Western Electric in 1963 and retired from Pacific Bell in 1997. He was a skilled woodworker and treasured his memories of growing up in Gentry. He enjoyed family gatherings, photography, camping at Yosemite and watching sports.

He is survived by his wife Gayle; son Jason of San Francisco, Calif.; daughter Donna Gemperle of San Jose, Calif.; stepdaughter Sheri and husband Scott Busciglio; sister and brother-in-law Faye and Gary Moulton of Lincoln, Neb.; brother-in-law Don Espindula of Tulare, Calif.

A memorial service was held Feb. 16 at Community Presbyterian Church, Danville, Calif. Arrangements were by Wilson & Kratzer Chapel of San Ramon Vallley, Danville.

Richard White

Richard Dean White, 80, of Sulphur Springs, died Feb. 15, 2013, at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville.

Richard was born March 11, 1932 in Sulphur Springs, to George R. and Etta (Putmain) White. He was raised and attended school in Sulphur Springs. He resided most of his adult life in the Chicago, Ill., area. He retired in April of 1994 from ABF Truck Lines in Chicago after several years of employment as an over-the-road truck driver. In July of 1994, he returned to Sulphur Springs. He enjoyed spending time fishing and watching movies. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sulphur Springs and a veteran of the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Thomas Stephan; three brothers; and three sisters.

Richard is survived by five sons, Cletus Stephan and wife Laura of Munster, Ind., Michael Stephan and wife Dawn of Lowell, Ind., David White and wife Liz of Wauwatosa, Wis., Christopher White and wife Susie of Harwood Heights, Ill., and Dean White and wife Myo of Oak Lawn, Ill.; two daughters, Theresa White of Highland, Ind., and Debbie Broadhead of Kerns, Utah; eighteen grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Feb. 18 at the First United Methodist Church in Sulphur Springs, with Phil Sturdy officiating. Burial followed in the GAR Cemetery in Sulphur Springs. Arrangements were by Ozark Funeral Home in Noel, Mo.
