First annual car and fireworks shows planned at Crystal Lake in Decatur

DECATUR- Independence Day is a time to celebrate our country’s birth. It is a time for family and friends to come together to remember the events which took place on July 4, 1776. Picnics, camping, barbecues and fireworks displays are all ways people commemorate this great holiday.

The Crystal Lake Fly-in Community of Decatur will sponsor the first annual Car Collector Show and Fireworks Spectacular on Saturday, July 6, at Crystal Lake Park, to help people celebrate America’s freedoms.

The car collector show will be from 5 p.m. until dusk. The fireworks spectacular will begin soon after dark.

The Crystal Lake Fly-in Community hopes to make this show and display an annual event.

People are being urged to bring their families to Crystal Lake Park for an evening of spectacular rides and star-burst.
