Clifford David

Clifford Dow David, 74, of Rose, Okla., died June 25, 2013, at his home.

He was born Nov. 19, 1938, in Kansas, Okla., to Dayton L. “Dick” David and Nettie Eva Abbott David. He was a lifelong resident of the Kansas, Okla., area and was a graduate of Kansas High School. He was an MP in the U.S. Army during peacetime. He was a supervisor at Webb Wheel in Siloam Springs. He also owned 4T Sawmill at his home. He married Mary VanZile in Kansas, Okla., on March 27, 1992. He was a member of the Galilean Church in Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a wife, Shirley David in 1991; one daughter, Anita Tillery; three grandchildren, Katelyn Buchanan, Elizabeth Buchanan, and Gracee Thompson.

Survivors include his wife, Mary David of the home; fi ve daughters, Kimberley Buchanan and husband Randy of Vienna, Va., Pamela Tegtmeyer and husband Jonathan of Fayetteville, Katrina Hudson and husband Victor of Stilwell, Okla., Faith Hutto and husband Jim of Siloam Springs, and Patsy Londagin and husband James of Colcord, Okla.; three sons, Jason Wilson of Oklahoma City, Okla., Keith Mitchell and wife Jeri Lynn of Colcord, and Jim Mitchell of Springtown; several grandchildren; and one sister, Lulla Jane Keen, of Sallisaw, Okla.

Funeral services were June 29 at Lowery Freewill Baptist Church, Lowery Community, Delaware County, Okla., with Lance Rogers and Leighton Reed offi ciating. Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.

F. Franklin Johnson

F. Franklin Johnson, 83, of Overland Park, Kan., died June 24, 2013.

He was born Dec. 26, 1930, in Gravette, to Fred and Ruth (McAllister) Johnson. He grew up in Gravette and graduated from Gravette High School. After graduating from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, Frank became a pharmacist and married Nita Perkins of Southwest City, Mo. Later in his career, he became a stockbroker with Merrill Lynch, retiring after 38 years of service.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Nita; two children, Stephan Johnson of Stilwell, Kan., and Stephannie Bradley and husband Bill of Fayetteville; fi ve grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held at Hillcrest Cemetery in Gravette on July 2. Arrangements were by D.W. Newcomer’s Overland Park Chapel, Overland Park, Kans.

Ronald Wood

Ronald Wiley “Ron” Wood, 53, of Colcord, Okla., died June 26, 2013, at Freeman Hospital, Joplin, Mo.

He was born Aug. 24, 1959, in Siloam Springs, to Wiley Junior Wood and Mary Sue Tussinger Wood. He was a graduate of Colcord High School and served in the National Guard. On July 11, 1979, he married Sharon Philpott. He had worked for various businesses, including Brand Rex, Franklin Electric and Ozark Electronics. He enjoyed hunting, fi shing and making rock pipes.

He was preceded in death by one granddaughter.

Survivors include his wife Sharon of the home; one son, Robby Wood and wife Shannon of Stilwell, Okla.; one daughter, Renee Johnson and husband Dan of Colcord; four grandchildren; one brother Don Wood of Colcord; and two sisters, Margie Nutter of Colcord, and Juanita Vernon of Atchison, Kan.

Arrangements are by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs. Bonnie Childers

Bonnie Ann Childers, 78, of Bentonville, died June 30th at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville.

She was born Sept. 29, 1934, to Charles and Jewyl Pulliam in Benton Harbor, Mich., the youngest of six children. A graduate of Grovertown (Indiana) High School and the University of Arkansas, she was a longtime elementary school teacher for the Gravette School district, beginning her career in the Hiwasse elementary school and later becoming a teacher of gifted children at Gravette. After retiring from teaching in 1994, she continued to pursue her love of painting and drawing.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Quinton.

She is survived by her husband of more than 50 years, Neal; and her children, Joseph Childers, of Riverside, Calif., Trina Matthews of Memphis, Tenn., Carla Sadler of Knoxville, Tenn, and Staci Matthews of Van Buren; 13 grandchildren; a brother, Robert Pulliam of Walkerton, Ind.; and a sister, Dorotha Culver of Gravette.

No public services are planned. Arrangements are by Benton County Funeral Home, Rogers. Joye Mae Adams

Joye Mae Adams, 74, of Hiwasse, died Saturday, June 29, 2013, after a yearlong battle with cancer.

She was born May 29, 1939, in Yellville, to Clarence and Mary Jane Richardson. She retired from Walmart in July of 1999 after nearly 25 years of service, mostly in the Mountain Home store. She was an avid gardener and Cardinals baseball fan, an accomplished seamstress and quilter. She attended the First Baptist Church of Hiwasse.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Pamela Carole Adams.

She is survived by her husband, Paul James Adams, of the home, whom she married on Dec. 24, 1955; one daughter, Brenda Lockhart and her husband Ross; fi ve grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren; four sisters, Geneva Lowery, Terry Baker, Helen Hensley and Gaye Wood; one brother, Floyd Richardson.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at the Bella Vista Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Hiwasse.
