OBITUARIES

David Shields, Sr.

David Lee Shields, 74, of Siloam Springs, Ark., died July 6, 2013, at Circle of Life Hospice, Springdale, Ark.. Born December 3, 1938, in Reeds, Mo., he was the son of David Monroe Shields and Clara Shields Cramer. He was a lifetime resident of Arkansas and lived in Gravette for many years prior to moving to Siloam Springs. He was a farmer and raised livestock and chickens. David was active in Northwest Arkansas chapters of AA, celebrating 42 years of continuous sobriety, and an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fi shing, and prospecting. He was a member of the Berean Ministries in Gravette, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his son, David Lee Shields, Jr.; a brother, Grover “Topper” Shields; and one sister, Hazel Wanbaugh.

Survivors include one son, Derwin Shields of Tampa, Fla.; two daughters, Deatria “DeeDee” Shields of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, and Denise Moren and husband Nick of Siloam Springs; two grandsons, Nathan Warner and David Lee “Trae” Shields III; eight granddaughters, Sarah Warner, Emily Woolson, Elizabeth Woolson, Lauren Woolson, Paige Perry, and Myah Moren, Bailey Moren, and Kylie Moren; six greatgrandchildren; two sisters, Connie Blair of Siloam Springs and Mary Cramer Wright of Golden, Colo.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, Arkansas, with Mr. Kim Hendren offi ciating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Gravette, Ark. Visitation will be 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs. Ruth Anderson

Peggy Ruth Anderson, 79, of Colcord, Okla., died July 2, 2013 in Colcord.

She was born Nov. 15, 1933, in Watts, Okla., to Carr Harless and Cecil Jones Harless. She was a graduate of Watts High School. She married Lloyd Anderson and was a co-owner of Lloyd Anderson Produce. She also worked as a bookkeeper for Pet Milk.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, David Anderson; and one sister, Maxine Rouch.

Survivors include one son, Raymond Anderson and wife Shannon of Colcord; two daughters, Karen White of Colcord, and Connie Ayers and husband Bill of Colcord; four grandchildren; and one sister, Dolly Brown of Watts.

Linda Bramwell

Linda S. Bramwell, 66, of Colcord, Okla., died July 3, 2013, at Washington Regional Hospital, Fayetteville.

She was born May 15, 1947, to Benjamin L. Hall and Beatrice Snider Hall. She married Danny Bramwell on May 23, 1965, in Siloam Springs. She worked for Franklin Electric as a torch connector. She was a member of the Harvard Avenue Baptist Church, Siloam Springs.

She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

Survivors include husband, Danny, of the home; one son, Jeffrey Bramwell and wife Jill of Papillion, Neb.; two daughters, Danna Bramwell of Tulsa, Okla., and Jennifer Bramwell of Farmington; six grandchildren; three brothers, Keith Hall and wife Brenda, Jerry Hall and wife Deb, and Tom Hall and wife Terri, all of Siloam Springs.

Funeral services were July 6 at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, with Conley Chesney offi ciating. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Siloam Springs.

‘Sonny’ Gray

Sarney “Sonny” William Gray, 74, of Gentry, died July 2, 2013, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale.

He was born March 16, 1939, in Boston, Mass., to Abraham Gray and Sarah Berman Gray. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was a baker for IGA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Leonard Gray; and his stepmother who raised him, Rose Gray.

Survivors include one son, Branden Gray and wife Amanda of Rose, Okla.; one daughter, Michelle Fritts and husband Bill of Big Lake, Alaska, and Krystal Balli and husband Chris of Siloam Springs; four grandchildren; numerous stepchildren and stepgrandchildren.

Memorial services were July 9 at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, with Rick Dimmitt offi ciating. Burial will be at a later date at Fort Gibson National Cemetery.

Betty Lee Ross

Betty Lee Ross, 81, of Gentry, died July 5, 2013, at Circle of Life Hospice, Springdale.

She was born Dec. 25, 1931, in Dalhart, Texas, to Joseph David Hill and Grace Meador Hill. She moved to Arkansas from Yuma, Ariz., in 1972 and worked in the cafeteria for the Gentry Schools. She was a member of the Gentry Order of Eastern Star and First Christian Church in Siloam Springs. She married Marvie Ross Sr., on Dec. 16, 1950.

Survivors include her husband, Marvie, of the home; three sons, MM Ross and wife Lisa of Keller, Texas, Clyde Ross of Edwards, Mo., and Coleman Ross of Francestown, N.H.; two daughters, Dianna Hayes and husband Terry of Henderson, Nev., and Charlotte Barker of Springdale; fi ve grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; one sister, Virginia Gardener of Arizona City, Ariz., and two brothers, Fred Hill of Mesa, Ariz., and Frank Hill of Santa Fe, N.M.

Funeral services were July 8, 2013, at First Christian Church, Siloam Springs, with Dean Boyer offi ciating. Burial was July 9 at Berryville Cemetery, Berryville.

Deloris Thurman

Deloris Jean Thurman, 84, of Siloam Springs, died July 3, 2013, at Northwest Medical Center, Bentonville.

She was born Oct. 19, 1928, in Delaware County, Okla., to Steve Anderson and Bertha Buce Anderson. She was a retired dog breeder.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Darol Anderson; and two sisters, Louise Stark and Betty Lou McCratic.

She is survived by Cecil Thurman; four daughters, Anita Sanders of Siloam Springs, Sue Hurt and husband Doyle of Colcord, Okla., Nancy Roberts of Springfield, Mo., and Sharla Harp of Kansas, Okla.; four grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; one sister, Ercille Philpott of Gentry, and one brother, Delbert Anderson of Ozark.

Funeral services were July 9 at New Life Church, Siloam Springs, with Tim Estes officiating. Burial followed at Kansas Cemetery, Kansas, Okla.
