Daniel Glen Taylor

Daniel Glen Taylor, 20, of Gentry, Arkansas, died July 23, 2013, at his home. Born February 18, 1993, in Rogers, Arkansas, he was the son of William J. Taylor and Kathie Lynn Oldham Taylor.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, George Wesley Taylor Jr.

Survivors include his parents, Bill and Kathie Taylor of the home; one brother, Caleb W. Taylor and wife Canda of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; one sister, Rebekah Taylor of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; one half sister, Jennifer Abercrombie and husband Jamon, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; maternal grandfather, Glen Oldham and wife Dottie of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; paternal grandmother, Dorothy Taylor of Clarksville, Arkansas; nephews, Taylor, Jordan and Wesley.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 26, 2013, at First Baptist Church, Gentry, Arkansas, with Rev. Don Blackmore and Dr. Robin Cowin offi ciating. Burial will be 3:00 p.m., at Jasper Cemetery, Jasper, Arkansas, with Rev. Mike Walker offi ciating. Emma Mae Hendrix

Emma Mae Hendrix, 89, of Gentry, Arkansas, died July 26, 2013, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. Born July 9, 1924, in Nebo, Ill., she was the daughter of Bryan Moyer and Mildred Russing Moyer. She was a homemaker and a member of the ELKS Club, Mason Valley Lodge. Emma was also a member of the United Methodist Church in Highfi ll.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Hendrix.

Survivors include one son, Dale Hendrix and wife Angela of Highfi ll; one grandson, Nathan Lee of Colcord, Okla.; and one stepson, Jimmy Hendrix and wife Earlene of Allentown, Tex.; one granddaughter, Jilane Carper and husband Keith; and great grandchildren, Kameron and Kaleb Carper; one sister, Idabelle Hobson and husband Ralph of Illinois; one brother, Jerry Moyer of Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy Aue

Dorothy Marie Davis Aue, 97, of Gravette, died July 20, 2013, at Concordia in Bella Vista.

She was born April 13, 1916, near Dennis in Parker County, Texas, to Frank Otis Davis and Betty Lee Williams Davis.

She graduated from Dennis High School and went on to junior college in Weatherford, Texas. In 1938 she graduated from Texas Teachers’ College (now called North Texas University) with a bachelor’s degree in physical education and in 1941 with a masters’ degree in education. She taught physical education for seven years, fi rst in public schools, then at the College of Mines and Metallurgy (now called University of Texas-El Paso). She married Ernest Herbert Aue on March 20, 1944, in Yuma, Ariz. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church and the PTA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Elizabeth McElroy of Danielsville, Ga.; and one son, Joe Aue of Ennis, Texas.

She is survived by one sister, Mary Nell Brown of Texas; three children, Frank Aue, Paul Aue and wife Jamie of Gravette, and Mary Aue Mitchell and husband Steve of Jefferson City, Mo.; and eight grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9, at the Gravette United Methodist Church with Phil Sturdy offi ciating. Burial will be in Stony Point United Methodist Church Cemetery in Beebe, on Aug. 10. Arrangements were by Bella Vista Funeral Home.

Dorothy Cochran

Dorothy Jean Cochran, 77, of Siloam Springs, died July 26, 2013, at Northwest Medical Center, Springdale.

She was born Dec. 17, 1935, in Newark, N.Y., to Leslie Gould and Jessie Griffin Gould. She was born and raised in New York but also lived in Charleston, S.C. She was a homemaker and seamstress. She married Giles Cochran in Atlanta, Ga, on June 28, 1969,

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sherry McJunkin; and one brother, David Gould.

Survivors include her husband Giles of the home; two sons, Paul Clingerman, Jr., and wife Char of Farmington, N.Y., and Wesley Clingerman and wife Anita of Wahiawa, Hawaii; two daughters, Annette Freeman and husband Robert of Springdale, and Yvonne Temple and husband Tim of Gentry; eight grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one brother, Eddie Gould of Butler, N.Y.; and one sister, Eleanor Shaft of Wolcott, N.Y.

Funeral services were July 30 at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery, Siloam Springs. Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.

Alton Manning

Alton Cordell Manning, 79, of Springfi eld, Mo., died July 21, 2013.

He was born Aug. 24, 1933, in Noel, Mo., to Clifford and Virgie Manning. He earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Missouri State University. He earned his master’s degree and doctorate in education from the University of Arkansas and spent his life in education. After retiring from Springfi eld Public Schools, he worked 17 years in the College of Education at the University of Missouri.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Morris Manning, a Gravette native whom he married 56 years ago; and a sister, Doris Manning of Springfi eld, Mo.

Funeral services were July 25 in Springfi eld, Mo., with burial at Noel Cemetery. Arrangements were by Gorman-Schrapf Funeral Home.

Tonya Rankin

Tonya Kay Rankin, 44, of Decatur, died July 20, 2013, in Bentonville.

She was born July 22, 1968, in Siloam Springs, to Frank and Kay Peacock Marie. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Vicky Lynn Haven.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Osbourn of the home; two daughters, Chentile Merworth and Chasity McAdams, both of Decatur; her mother, Kay Clubb and husband Foy of Beaumont, Texas; and four grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at a later date. Arrangements are by Benton County Funeral Home, Rogers.

Clinton Somerville

Clinton Howard Somerville, 66, of Colcord, Okla., died July 23, 2013, in Bentonville.

He was a truck driver for many years.

He is survivived by two sons, Patrick Somerville and wife Mary, and Jim Somerville and wife Missy; one brother, Earl; and nine grandchildren.
