GRAVETTE - Gravette American Legion Post 25 will conduct a flag retirement ceremony Tuesday evening, June 18, on the lawn just south of the Civic Center in Gravette. The ceremony will begin at 6 p.m.

The post is accepting tattered and faded flags which require burning, the prescribed procedure for disposing of such flags.

If you have flags to retire, you may contact Post Adjutant J.R. Gibbs, 899-3506, or they may be dropped off at Gravette City Hall during normal business hours.

Immediately following the ceremony, Post Commander Mike Carnahan will grill hamburgers and hot dogs, which will be served with potato salad, drinks and dessert, all compliments of the post.

“We encourage everyone to come out, especially all veterans and their families,” Gibbs said.
