Maddox to run for State House post

GRAVETTE - Businessman Kurt Maddox has announced he will be a Republican candidate for the Arkansas State House of Representatives District 92.

Rep. Mary Lou Slinkard currently holds this office and will not be eligible for re-election due to term limits. Maddox is the first person to announce his candidacy for the primary which is scheduled for May, 2013.

Maddox is the CEO of MDX Group and was raised in Northwest Arkansas. He lives in Gravette with his wife Dawn and their six children.

Maddox holds master of business administration and master of science degrees with an emphasis in leadership and ethics. Both degrees are from John Brown University. He is a member of Fellowship Bible Church in Rogers.

“I believe hard work and conservative values have helped positively distinguish our region as one with lasting appeal and stability,” Maddox said. “A limited government and a tax structure that is not intrusive are at the heart of my philosophy for how I would represent the people of the 92nd district. I am also pro life with a 100 percent rating and fully support our Second Amendment rights.”

The 92nd district covers the northwest corner of Benton County and includes the west area of Bella Vista and surrounding areas of Centerton, Gravette, Decatur and Sulphur Springs.
