Club holds annual career day

GRAVETTE - Shortly before the end of the school year, the DECA Club of Gravette High School held the 14th annual Career Day, according to Bob Johnson, faculty member who coordinated the event.

Speakers from various industries, corporations, professions and agencies were present and students were able to choose areas of interest to listen to and meet the guests.

Following introduction of the 18 guest speakers, held in the Performing Arts Center, a presentation was given about career statistics for students involved in sports and extracurricular activities. This was followed by a video about trends and changes in business and media.

Student ambassadors were chosen from the Career and Tech Clubs and other extracurricular groups to assist and introduce the speakers, Johnson said.

“The students enjoyed meeting the community leaders and hearing their presentations,” he added.
