GRAVETTE - The Performing Arts Center at Gravette High was filled with proud parents, grandparents and others when the 138 kindergarten students at Glenn Duffy Elementary “graduated” on May 29.
The little ones, decked out in their best, filled the stage during a traditional processional followed by the Salute to the Flag.
Citizenship and achievement awards were presented to students in each of the seven kindergarten classes by Principal Zane Vanderpool and Jesslyn Gibson.
Presentation of diplomas was by Vanderpool and by each of the seven teachers to their students.

Following the ceremony the class returned to the elementary playground where each child was presented a helium-filled 100 percent biodegradable balloon provided by the Balloon Closet of SiloamSprings. Donations for the celebratory balloon release were provided by Austin Drug and Countryview Animal Clinic.
A stiff south wind quickly took the brightly colored balloons out of sight as they headed north above the elementary school.
