Roger’s Garage opens in Gentry

Wednesday, June 26, 2013

GENTRY - Roger’s Garage and Express Lube, a new business in Gentry, held its grand opening on Saturday in conjuction with a chamber-sponsored ribbon cutting. The day’s events included specials for customers and an official ribbon cutting at the new business by members of Gentry’s Chamber of Commerce.

For many, the faces at the new business are likely to be familiar ones because the business is owned and operated by Terry Spurlock, son of Roger Spurlock and the current owner and manager of Roger’s Garage in Siloam Springs, a full-service, family-owned automotive garage there since 1980.

At Roger’s Garage and Express Lube - on Arkansas Highway 59, just south of the Highway 12 intersection - Terry hopes to fill a void in the Gentry area by offering drive-up oil changes, with full maintenance service, at a reasonable price. No appointment is needed. Customers can drive up and within minutes be receiving the service they need.

The business offers oil changes for $34.95 (with up to five quarts of house oil). But the bargain includes service automotive garages used to provide but often don’t today, including a 20-point check list, fluids filled, windows washed and floors vacuumed.

The Gentry business also services air conditioning units, flushes cooling systems, services transmissions and works on brakes.

And for those concerned about maintaining warranties, oil changes and service at Roger’s is entered by computer into CarFax so dealers and future buyers can obtain a full record of maintenance and service.

“When a car comes in, we obtain the vehicle identification number, enter it in and know exactly what parts, grade of oil and how much is needed,” Spurlock said. “We leave nothing to chance or guesswork,” he said.

The Gentry business employs three technicians to provide quick and professional service to its customers.

The Gentry business is open from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays. For more information, call 525-6117.
