Police solve burglary

— Several pistols and a shotgun taken during a burglary at a pawn shop in Gravette last Thursday night or early Friday were recovered Saturday afternoon by Gravette police.

The break-in at Cardinal Corner Pawn, located just east of Teasley Drug in Gravette, was reported when owner Danny White opened for business Friday morning.

According to a police report, two and possibly a third person were involved in the burglary. Entry was gained by smashing a front window at the business, located in a former residence. An attempt to enter the building through back and front entrances had been futile, officers said.

Four pistols, a 12 gauge shotgun, a high-power air rifle and an iPod were reported stolen. They were recovered Saturday afternoon at a Gravette address.

Officer Scott Gillming was the first officer at the crime scene and, according to Cpl. Jeff Turner, almost every officer in the department has been involved in the investigation.

Gillming said Kendall Toller, 19, and John S. Weeks, 18, both of Gravette, were arrested Monday and held in the Benton Co. Jail, with bond set at $40,000. Charges include commercial burglary, six counts of felony theft, one misdemeanor theft and possession of alcohol.
