Decatur Chamber plans spring events

DECATUR - Chamber of Commerce members made plans for the annual Decatur Easter egg hunt at their March 4 meeting.

The egg hunt will be held at 10 a.m., March 30, in Veterans Park. Prizes will be awarded for a boy and a girl in each age category, and one boy and one girl will win a grand prize of a bicycle. A golden egg with a special prize inside will also be hidden for each age group.

In other business, chamber members agreed to participate in Spring Pickin’ Time on ‘59, which was started by the Gentry Chamber of Commerce.

The garage sale and flea market event will be held May 2-5. Businesses are asked to host sidewalk sales or special events and residents are encouraged to hold spring-cleaning garage sales.

Antique and collectable dealers are also invited to set up business booths in the town for the weekend, according to the Gentry Chamber of Commerce website www.gentrychamber.com.

The chamber will hold its next meeting at 5:30 p.m., April 1, at the Gallery Cafe.
