Siloam Springs man faces charges after attempts to speak with ex-girlfriend

GENTRY - A Siloam Springs man was arrested and charged with residential burglary and false imprisonment after breaking into a home to talk with his former girlfriend.

Israel Guzman, 22, was arrested on May 1 after he allegedly entered a Gentry home through an unlocked window and then would not leave or let his former girlfriend leave the home, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

Guzman would not leave or let his former girlfriend leave until he talked to her, the affidavit states. When she tried to leave her own home to get away from him, Guzman grabbed the young woman around the waist and pushed her back against the wall, the affidavit states.

No report of injuries or further assault was included in the affidavit.

Residential burglary is a Class B felony. False imprisonment in the second degree is a Class A misdemeanor.

Guzman has since posted bond, according to Gentry police, and a no contact order was issued ordering him to have no contact with his former girlfriend or her family.
