DECATUR - Bikers had the chance to enjoy beautiful spring weather and ride for a good cause during the Fourth Annual Wyatt Hopkins Memorial Poker Run on Saturday.

The event is sponsored by the Decatur Fire Department and held to raise money for Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock.

Eighty-five riders and passengers on 63 motorcycles participated in the poker run, according to Fire Chief David Flynt.

The 162 mile route included stops in the Oklahoma towns of Kansas, Tahlequah and Westville, as well as Tontitown in Arkansas.

Riders returned to the Decatur High School cafeteria to eat hamburgers hot off the grill and listen to music by Matt Davis and Colt Smith.

Jeannie Luker won the high hand for a $250 prize, and Randy Davis won the low hand for a $150 prize. Both individuals donated their winnings back to the Children’s Hospital.

“Numbers were down because there was so much going on and other poker runs,” said Flynt. “But we are always thankful for the turnout we have because we just want to support the Arkansas Children’s Hospital all we can.”
