Gravette graduation set in Lions Stadium

GRAVETTE - One hundred seniors at Gravette High School will march across Lion Stadium Saturday morning to receive their diplomas, the final rite of their 12 years of education.

At least they, and those involved with planning the ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday, are hoping the event will be at the stadium. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, the ceremony will be held in the competition gym on the downtown campus.

Several events are being held this week, including scholarship night and an induction ceremony for National Honor Society members which were held Monday evening.

Friday will be a busy day, with an awards assembly for high school students at 9 a.m. in the Performing Arts Center. Senior practice will follow, which includes a graduation and baccalaureate walk through.

Baccalaureate is at 7 p.m. Friday evening at the PAC. Speaker for the service will be Darrell Kepler, pastor of Heritage Baptist Church.

Following the graduation ceremony, which will feature students as speakers, a reception in honor of all graduates will be held in the GHS commons.
