Sulphur Springs search turns up drugs, guns

BENTON COUNTY - Benton County Sheriff’s Office deputies found drugs, firearms and blasting caps during a search of a Sulphur Springs home Tuesday.

Keshia Guyll, public information deputy for the Sheriff’s Office, said deputies searched 16180 Beaty Road after receiving information about methamphetamine being made inside the residence.

Deputies arrested Richard Miller, 42, and Sandra Dozier, 32, in connection with charges of manufacturing a controlled substance, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, five counts of endangering the welfare of a minor, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal acts involving explosives. Miller, a convicted felon, also was arrested in connection with possession of firearms by certain persons.

Detectives found components of a methamphetamine lab, methamphetamine, a handgun, a rifle, a shotgun, digital scales, packaging material, pharmaceutical pills, blasting caps and items used to ingest and consume illegal narcotics, Guyll said.

The Bentonville Police Department removed the blasting caps from the home.

Five children, ages 2 to 14, were living in the home. The children were placed in Arkansas Department of Human Services custody, Guyll said.

Miller and Dozier are no longer listed as being held in the Benton County Jail.
