OCH offers storm shelter

GRAVETTE - In the event of severe weather this season, area residents may seek cover at Ozarks Community Hospital, which continues to serve as a storm shelter for the local community.

The reminder comes from Morgan Black, communications coordinator for OCH.

“Visitors seeking shelter at OCH should enter through the Emergency Room doors located on the east side of the hospital building unless otherwise directed by a hospital employee,” Black said. “Visitors will then sign in and be escorted to the basement floor.”

“When using the hospital as a shelter, visitors will not be permitted to bring large items or pets of any kind, with the exception of service animals.

“With tornado season at its peak, we wanted to remind the Gravette community that OCH is an available storm shelter,” Black said. “We’re grateful to be able to provide that to area residents.”

OCH of Gravette and the OCH of Gravette Clinic serve patients throughout Northwest Arkansas and the surrounding counties.

Services include a 15-bed inpatient floor, 24-hour emergency room, swing-bed program, sleep lab, pain management clinic, physical therapy and outpatient services, including lab and radiology.
