It seems like winter weather now but will probably be more like it later.

The fall council for the county E.H. Clubs was held on Friday at the Southside Church of Christ in Rogers. There were five from the Maysville club who attended, Orpha Wardlaw, Berti Ray, Bert Ballmann, Katherine Tucker and Melinda Crawley. The program and the lunch were good and there was lots of good food. Our club received some awards for our work this past year. There were awards for our volunteer hours, increase in membership, club secretary’s book being turned in and three members with perfect attendance. We kept busy and appreciate all the support we receive. We welcome visitors and new members.

The quilt show that was held at the Maysville Bible Church on Saturday, Oct. 26,was a huge success. There were 93 quilts on display. The attendance was good in the afternoon as folks came to see the beautiful quilts.

The craft sale that was held at Maysville Community Building on Saturday was a success. The Maysville E.H. Club was host for it. There were lots of pretty handmade items and food. The attendance was good.

The black walnuts have sure fallen during these windy days. Looks as though the trees were really loaded. Hammons has been buying them to be sent to their plant in Missouri.

It’s going to be holiday time here soon. Thanksgiving is only three and a half weeks off. It seems like this year has flown by. I’ve heard that happens when you get older and I believe it.
