Police arrest sex offender

— GENTRY - Police arrested Shelton Lane Hance, 19, for failingto comply with registration and reporting requirements for a sex offender and for living near aschool or public park.

According to an affi davit of probable cause fi led by the Gentry Police Department, Hance was staying in a home located within 2,000 feet of Gentry High School and within 2,000 feet of Gentry City Park. A female juvenile also lived in the home.

Hance is a Level 3 sex offender, according to the affidavit, and he had not registered his address, as required.

Hance was being held in the Washington County Jail, with bond set at $2,500. A Dec. 9 hearing date was set, according to the Washington County Jail website.
