Gravette announces Christmas Parade

— “Light Up Gravette” is the theme of the annual Christmas parade which will be held Saturday, Nov. 30, according to Mayor Byron Warren and the staff at Gravette City Hall.

Activities will begin that morning, with a Christmas Craft Fair in the Civic Center starting at 10 a.m. and continuing to 2 p.m. For information or to participate, contact Tina Crose, 787-0510.

At 6 p.m. the Light Up Gravette parade will begin. Floats and entries will line up on Charlotte Street SE and will follow the traditional parade route, finally going east on Main Street and ending in Kindley Memorial Park. Santa will be there to greet children; and there will be music, hot chocolate and cookies.

The event is free and all individuals, families, churches, clubs, businesses and school groups are being encouraged to participate in the parade. There is no charge to participate and there will be awards in various divisions.

Following the parade and Santa visit, a Hometown Country Christmas musical event will be held at the Gravette Civic Center.

“There will be free chili and more,” a spokesperson said.

Kids on bikes are encouraged to participate or walk in the parade wearing holiday hats to make it a fun time for all.

Parade entry forms are available at Gravette City Hall, and it is hoped there will be many Christmas theme fl oats.
