Benefit Hot Roll Sale

As a project to help fund the “Meals on Wheels” program of the Billy V. Hall Senior Activity Center, the center is taking orders for hot rolls for Thanksgiving. A dozen of the fresh-baked rolls is $5, and orders will be taken through Monday, Nov. 25, by calling 787-5950. They will be ready to be picked up Nov. 27 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the center, located at 1870 Limekiln Road in Gravette.

Chili Supper

Gentry Masonic Lodge #222 will again have an annual chili supper to raise money for its scholarship fund. The lodge tries every year to give at least $1,500 in scholarships to the Gentry area students, and this is made possible due to the generosity of those purchasing these tickets. The lodge will be serving chili, with all the trimmings and with homemade desserts, from 5 until 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22. Tickets are: adults - $5, children 12 and under - $3. Tickets can be purchased from any lodge member, or at the door.

Booster Club Supper

The Decatur Booster Club will be having a chili supper from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, at the Decatur High School cafeteria, to raise money for the athletic banquet. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 5-12. Under 5 eat free.

Thanksgiving Dinner

The annual Indian - White Man Thanksgiving dinner will be this Saturday, Nov. 23, beginning at 9 a.m. at the Gravette Civic Center. Lunch willbe at noon. Turkey will be provided. Bring a covered dish to add to the meal. For information, call Kay Roberts, 787-1044.

Maysville VFD Fundraiser

The Maysville Volunteer Fire Dept. will host its annual chili supper and pie auction Saturday, Nov. 23, at the fi re station. The event will start at 5 p.m., with serving of free chili and the pie auction to follow. Everyone is invited to attend and support the fi re department. All funds raised are used for the expenses of the department which serves the broad area of Maysville and reaches into Oklahoma.

Sulphur Springs Gathering

A community-wide gathering for the 7th Annual Dessert Auction will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24, on the Shiloh grounds, 309 S. Griffin. Proceeds from the auction will benefi t Sulphur families whose children attend Gravette Schools.

Family Line Dance

Christian Rhythms Dance Studio, 115 Main St. S.E. in Gravette, will hold a family line dance night from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23. Admission is $1 or two cans of food for those age 10 and under and $6 or $5 and two cans of food for those 11 and over. The extra dollar and cans of food will be donated to Share the Harvest Food Pantry in Gravette. There will be a line dance lesson from 7 to 8 p.m. Hot apple cider, hot chocolate and water will be available for purchase.

Gentry Thanksgiving

The Gentry area community-wide Thanksgiving service will be held Nov. 24 at 6 p.m. at the Springtown Seventh-day Adventist Church, 12444 Fairmount Rd. The Gentry Ministerial Alliance, event sponsors, invite everyone to join in this time of corporate worship and fellowship. There will be special music provided by several area churches and Tony Cash, pastor of the Springtown Seventh-day Adventist Church, will deliver the message. Conservation District

The regular meeting of the Benton County Conservation District will be held at the USDA, Natural Resources Conservation Service Center, in Bentonville, at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5. For further information about the meeting, contact Gail Sparks at 273-2622, ext. 3.

Love Lights A Tree

The annual Love Lights A Tree ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, in Gravette’s Centennial Park. Donations are being accepted for the Love Lights project, now in its 17th year. White lights will honor a person’s memory, red lights will honor survivors and blue lights will represent persons in the military or anyone you would like to remember during the holiday season. $5 suggested donations, which go to the American Cancer Society, may be sent to “Love Lights A Tree,” P.O. Box 116, Gravette, AR 72736 or given to RuthFoster, Colleen Dickinson or Mary Beth Mitchell. Include your name, person you wish to honor and your relationship to the honoree.

GED Prep Classes

Free GED prep classes and testing are being held at the Gravette Library now through Dec. 13. Classes are from 4 to 6 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays at the library, 407 Charlotte St. S.E., in Gravette. Classes are open enrollment. Students may start any time and finish when they are ready. Call 986-6911 or simply show up to enroll in class.

Naturalists Training

NWA Master Naturalists begin the annual training program for new members on Feb. 14, 2014, at NWA Community College. New members complete a minimum of 40 hours of classroom and field studies to become certifi ed Master Naturalists. Programs include diverse topics such as eco-regions, wildlife habitat and tree identification, presented by experts in the fi eld. Certified NWAMN members support natural areas in their communities by volunteering. Class size is limited. Cost for training is $135 and classes are held on Saturdays in area locations. Decatur Food Pantry

United Christian Charities has opened a food pantry in downtown Decatur, across from Decatur State Bank, for anyone needing food in the northwest Arkansas area. The hours of operation are Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. The point of contact is Tina Holt, 435-5699.

Maysville Pantry

Maysville Missionary Baptist Church opens its food pantry, Our Healing Hearts, every fourth Sunday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for those in need.

Church Singing

Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist in Sulphur Springs holds a singing service every fourth Saturday of the month, starting at 6:30 p.m. A potluck dinner follows. For more information, call Jheri Roberts, the pastor, at 752-7082.

Praise and Worship

Maysville Missionary Baptist Church holds a praise and worship service at 6 p.m. every third Sunday night, with refreshments following.

Tired Iron

Regular meetings of the Tired Iron of the Ozarks are held at 7 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month at the Tired Iron clubhouse, located at the club’s show grounds on Taylor Orchard Road southwest of Gentry.

Gravette Legion

Gravette American Legion Post 25 meets the third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Civic Center. All veterans are encouraged to attend. Gravette Kiwanis

The Gravette Kiwanis Club holds breakfast meetings at 7 a.m. each Friday at the cafeteria in Ozarks Community Hospital. Guests are welcome.

Singing Services

Monthly singing services at Falling Springs Church are held at 7 p.m., the first Friday of each month. The church is located northwest of Gentry and west of Decatur on Falling Springs Road.

Men’s Fellowship

First Baptist Church of Gentry has a monthly men’s fellowship gathering at 8 a.m. on the third Saturday of each month. All men are welcome to come for food and fellowship. Guests are welcome. For more information, contact Madden Waits at 736-5009.

VFW Meetings Decatur

VFW Post 9834 meets at 7 p.m. on the fi rst Tuesday of each month. New members and guests are welcome. The facility is three miles east of Decatur on Arkansas Highway 102, right on Tilly’s Hill Road.
