Council dissolves court

— Terry King was approved unanimously as a new member of Gravette City Council and sworn in at the beginning of Thursday night’s meeting.

King addressed the council and expressed his desire to serve, pointing out that he had served two terms in the past and felt he had something to offer the group. He replaces James Denver, who recently resigned.

In citizen comments preceding the meeting, Allyson Ransom expressed concern about the hole in her water meter cover and the large amount of water that had entered the meter. She said she feared it would freeze when temperatures dropped and damage the meter. She was told her questions would have to beanswered by Corey Reardon, water department manager, who was not present.

Councilman Bob Robinson asked regarding a missing page in the Nov. 14 Committee of the Whole minutes. Councilwoman Amy Rambadt also asked about the recent city audit and how the issues were addressed. The group decided to suspend approval of the COW minutes and discuss the audit issue at the special meeting Dec. 5 at city hall.

An ordinance for the dissolution of the Gravette city court was read for the third and fi nal time and passed unanimously.

The meeting was adjourned after only 15 minutes.

A special Committee of the Whole meeting will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 5, at city hall to discuss the city budget, the recent wage-scale study and the legislative audit. All city meetings are open to the public.
