‘Light Up Gravette’ event set for Saturday

— The annual “Light Up Gravette” event is set for this Saturday, Nov. 30. The event will begin at 10 a.m., when a Christmas craft fair will open at the Civic Center, 401 Charlotte St. S.E. For information on the craft display, which will continue through 2 p.m., call Tina Crose, 787-0510.

The “Light Up Gravette” parade will begin at 6 p.m. Parade participants will line up onCharlotte St., S.E., and follow the traditional route, going down Main Street and ending at Kindley Park, where there will be music, hot chocolate and cookies. Santa will be on hand to visit with the children. All activities are free.

There is still time for individuals, families, churches, businesses, clubs and school groups to sign up with a parade entry. All are encouraged to participate. There is no charge to enter and trophies will be awarded in various divisions. For more detailsor to sign up, contact Gravette City Hall, 787-5757, ext. 1.

Following the parade and the gathering at Kindley Park, an “Old Tyme Christmas” celebration will be held at the Civic Center. This event, which begins at 7 p.m., will feature musical entertainment and servings of free chili for all who attend.

Mayor Byron Warren and staff members at Gravette City Hall invite all in the area to come join the fun for this annual holiday event, sponsored this year by the city of Gravette.
