Goldie Arnold

Goldie Marie “Davis” Arnold of Gravette, died Oct. 2, 2013.

She was born to Alfred and Eula (Shearer) Davis on Feb. 12, 1934, in Bentonville. She was the wife of the late Russell Lee Arnold, whom she married on July 30, 1952. She was a baker at the Holiday Inn in Bentonville, librarian at the Bentonville Library, and worked at Bemco in Centerton for many years. She was a homemaker for her children and grandchildren and enjoyed painting and cooking.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; three brothers, George D. Davis, James A. Davis and Dennis Davis; son, Kenny Arnold; and granddaughter, Jennifer.

She is survived by her three daughters, Constance and husband Ray Raley of O’Fallon, Mo., Dana and husband Brian Liska of Paragould, and Raytana and husband Billy Steenblock of Pineville, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Oct. 7 at the East Side Assembly of God, in Bentonville. Burial followed at Dent Cemetery in Washburn, Mo. Arrangements were by Rollins Funeral Home Chapel.

Royce ‘Cowboy’ Burks

Royce “Cowboy” Kenneth Burks, 81, of Sulphur Springs, died Oct. 1, 2013, at his home.

He was born June 5, 1932, in Pickle Gap, to Tom E. and Lula Burks. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He married Patsy Jean Cox on March 29, 2003, in Gravette. He enjoyed playing music andplayed the guitar, fi ddle and banjo, as well as other stringed instruments. He also enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and camping.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Helen Madeline Burks; son, Tom Edward Burks; grandson, Royce Kenneth Burks, III; and a great-grandson, Cody Bradley.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy Burks, of the home; children, Kenneth Burks and wife Paulene of Noel, Mo., Carolyn Sue Bock and husband Herbert of Gravette, Royce Kenneth Burks Jr., and wife Reth of Vinita, Okla., Ronald Joe Burks of Springfield, Mo., Lula Ann Hooper and husband Bill of Cleveland, Okla.; stepchildren, William Franklin Downing and wife Penny Sue of Decatur, Barbara Sue McFarland of Sulphur Springs, Jeremiah Downing of Sulphur Springs; 22 grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; 17 greatgrandchildren; and 10 step-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held at Butler Creek Cemetery near Sulphur Springs on Oct. 5. Arrangements were by Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

Cary Ennis, Sr.

Cary Bart Ennis, Sr., 66, died Oct. 3, 2013, in Westville, Okla.

He was born to Morgan Bart Ennis and Frances (Gullet) Ennis on June 17, 1947, in Bentonville. He liked to watch Horsepower TV and many other car shows and enjoyed reading a good western novel.

He is survived by his wife, Glenda Ennis of Decatur; mother, Frances Golden of Gentry;children, Tom Holland of Decatur, Lisa Myers and husband Kirt of Broken Arrow, Okla., Bart Ennis and wife Tonia of Westville, Okla., Elizabeth Ennis of Bristow, Okla., Annette Siegel and husband Rick of Bristow; 21 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Sandy Bradley and husband Roy of Siloam Springs, Susan Philpott of Sulphur Springs, Gayle Lampher of Grove, Okla., Shirley Goodall of Kansas City, Mo.; brother, Fred Reinhardt and wife Sharon, of Siloam Springs.

Graveside services were Oct. 5 at Springtown Cemetery, Springtown, with Lance Unger offi ciating. Arrangements were by Roberts and Hart Funeral Home, Westville, Okla.

Charles Garman

Charles Wayne Garman, 73, of Gravette, died Sept. 26, 2013.

He was born March 4, 1940, in Gravette.

He was preceded in death by wife, Suzanne; his parents, Roy and Loretta; and brother, Cecil.

He is survived by two children, daughter Cara, and son Philip; and fi ve siblings, Shirley, Michael, Calvin, Carl and Clarence. Eula Jennings

Eula Jennings, 96, of Bella Vista, died Oct. 4, 2013, at her home.

She was born June 11, 1917, in Richland, Okla., to Walter Gregory and Elsie Newman Gregory. She was a homemaker and a member of Village Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Jennings, on March 23, 2012; two sisters; and one brother.

Survivors include one son Charles “ Skip” Jennings II and wife Diana of Bella Vista; two daughters, Barbara Fite of Borger, Texas, and Janice Olomon of Lewisville, Texas; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; numerous great-greatgrandchildren; and three sisters, Mabel Reynolds of El Reno, Okla., Willis Loyall of Edmond Okla.; and Willa Rogers of Ogden, Utah.

Graveside services were Oct. 7 at Bella Vista Memorial Gardens, Bella Vista, with Michael Callahan offi ciating. Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.

Charles ‘Gib’ Lannen

Charles “Gib” Lannen, 89, of Moundridge, Kan., died Oct. 3, 2013 in Moundridge

He was born May 7, 1924, in Bellefonte, Penn., to Grover and Mary Alice Spicer Lannen. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He married Bernice Peters on Jan. 3, 1947. He was a retired auto mechanic.

He was preceded in death by two sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Bernice of the home; three sons, Raymond Lannen of Middleburg, Penn., Robert Lannen of Middleburg, Penn., and Charles Lannen of Elk Mills, Md.; four daughters, Cathy Blosser of Lewisburg, Penn., Carol Burns of Gentry, Mary Koehn of Farmington, Ky., and Susan Yoder of Goshen, Ind.; 13 grandchildren, nine greatgrandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Oct. 8, at the Gentry Mennonite Church, Gentry, with Dwayne Koehn officiating. Burial followed in the Gentry Mennonite Cemetery. Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.
