Ruby Hight

Ruby Pruitt Roberts Hight, 91, of Hiwasse, died Oct. 14, 2013, at Circle of Life Hospice Home at Legacy Village in Bentonville.

She was born Sept. 12, 1922, in Swain, to James Franklin and Sarah Elizabeth Cooksey Pruitt. She was the 10th child born to this union. She was raised north of Hiwasse and attended school in Hiwasse. She later married Austin Lloyd Roberts and they had one son, Roy Eugene (Gene) Roberts. Austin was killed in action in the Battle of the Bulge on Dec. 24, 1944. After the war, she married Melvin Howard Hight. They lived in Rogers and later moved to Hiwasse. They had three children. She was a Sunday school teacher and member of the Hiwasse Church of Christ. She was an active member of the PTA in Hiwasse. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She served on the election board for a number of years in Hiwasse.

Survivors include three sons, Gene Roberts of Centerton, John and Jacki Hight of Granby, Mo., Don and Debi Hight of Bella Vista; one daughter Linda Fisher of Indiahoma, Okla.; fi ve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Oct. 16 at the Hiwasse Church of Christ with Jack Sandlin offi ciating. Burial was in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Arrangements were by Benton County Funeral Home, Rogers.

Sally Jackson

Sally Ann Jackson, 69, formerly of Gentry, died Oct. 12, 2013, at the Earlene Howard Hospice Home in Springdale.

She was born Feb. 12, 1944, in Red Bluff, Calif., to Laurence Allen Blunkall and Cleo Orear Blunkall. She worked 22 years at the Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital as a dietitian. She enjoyed crafts, especially making them for her grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Barry and wife Julie Jackson of Lincoln, and Brad and wife Shelley Jackson of Gentry; one daughter, Dorenda and husband Bobbie Jo Meek of Cassville, Mo.; one brother, Laurence Blunkall of Colorado; three sisters, Kathryn Edwards, Theresa Marks and Brenda Bernier, all of California; nine grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Jackson; and one sister, Betty Joann Stacy.

Graveside services were Oct. 16 at the Gentry Cemetery. Arrangements were by Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home.

Kenny Jarvis

Kenneth Lynn “Kenny” Jarvis, 60, of Southwest City, Mo., died Oct. 17, 2013, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born Feb. 14, 1953, in Bentonville, the youngest of two sons born to Clarence E. and Maxine (Osborn) Jarvis. He was raised in Hiwasse and was a 1971 graduate of Gravette High School. He was united in marriage to Linda White on Nov. 18, 1972, in Noel, Mo., and to this union one son was born. He and Linda have resided in Southwest City since 1973. He owned and operated Kenny Jarvis Construction Company. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fi shing and caring for the needs of his farm. He was a member of the Mill Creek Baptist Church in Noel, Mo.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda Jarvis, of the home; a son, Justin Jarvis and wife Lisa of Gravette; three grandchildren; a brother, Jim Jarvis and wife Earlene of Gravette.

Funeral services were Oct. 22 at the Mill Creek Baptist Church with Tom Sharp offi ciating. Burial followed in the ButlerCreek Cemetery near Sulphur Springs. Arrangements were by Ozark Funeral Home in Southwest City, Mo.

Stella Orten

Stella Ruby Orten, 88, of Gravette, died Oct. 18, 2013, at Ozarks Community Hospital in Gravette.

She was born on Nov. 28, 1924, in Cleo Springs, Okla., to Joseph E. Alexander and Esther Marie Lennen Alexander. She moved to Gravette in 1969 from Colorado. She was a certified nursing assistant working at Gravette Medical Center, later Gravette Manor and Bentonville Manor, retiring in 1999. She was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist in Sulphur Springs.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and seven brothers.

She is survived by one son, Lonnie Orten and wife Barbara of Gravette; two brothers, Billy Gene Alexander and wife Jennie of Sulphur Springs, Wendall Alexander and wife Willa of Gravette.; fi ve sisters, Bonnie Schaffer and husband Bill of Gravette, Xollie Buffer and husband Delbert of Gravette, Ellen Neil of Bartlesville, Okla., Edna Schaffer of Clinton, Okla., Betty Wilkins and husband Bud of Decatur; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

A committal service was held Oct. 22 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Gravette. Arrangements were by Bella Vista, Funeral Home & Crematory, Bella Vista.

Annabelle Plumlee

Annabelle Plumlee, 89, of Rogers and long-time resident of Gravette, died Oct. 16, 2013, at her home.

She was born March 19, 1924, in Dug Hill, to Sam Jackson and Myrtle Holland Jackson. She married Kenneth Plumlee on April 26, 1946. They settled in Gravette, where they raised their two children. She attended First BaptistChurch in Gravette and taught Sunday school for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Allene Lauber.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Kenneth Plumlee; one son, Robert Plumlee and wife Elsa of Tulsa; one daughter, Betty Downie and husband Hayden of Tulsa; one brother, Olin Jackson and wife Thelma of Bentonville; six grandchildren; and seven greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services were Oct. 19 at Stockdale-Moody Funeral Chapel in Rogers, with Chip Brown officiating. Burial followed in Bentonville Cemetery.

Wanda Wilkins

Wanda Faye Wilkins, 86, of Siloam Springs, died Oct. 15, 2013, at her home.

She was born Aug. 17, 1927, in Redmond, Ore., to Arna Clinton Gullett and Nellie Jane Barber Gullett. She lived most of her life in the Siloam Springs area, where she was a homemaker. She married Delbert Earl Wilkins on Jan. 9, 1943. She was a member of the Gentry Seventh-day Adventist Church in Gentry.

She was preceded in death by two sons, David Wilkins and Lynn Wilkins.

Survivors include her husband, Delbert, of the home; three sons, James Wilkins of Gravette, Terry Wilkins of Garibaldi, Ore., and Ivan Wilkins of Omaha; three daughters, Arlene Miller of Fargo, N.D., Linda Dunlap of Marvell, and Peggy Still of Siloam Springs; 17 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one brother, John Gullett of Vinita, Okla.; and one sister, Frances Golden of Gentry.

Funeral services were Oct. 18 at Gentry Seventhday Adventist Church, with Werner Gil offi ciating. Burial followed at Gentry Cemetery, Gentry. Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.
