Quilt show winners announced

— The judging is done and the results are in. Winning quilters’ names have been released for the annual Gentry Quilt Show which was held from Oct. 11 through 18 at the McKee Community Room in the Gentry Public Library.

Winning best of show was Sue Etris of Decatur. She also was the viewer’schoice winner in this year’s show.

Nancy Quan, also of Decatur, won in the best hand-quilted and best use of colors categories. Martha Brigance and Nora Krein, both of Gentry, won in the best machine quilted category. Honorable mention in the machine quilted category was Cleta Whitman of Gravette. Mary Pumphrey, of Bella Vista, received honorable mention in the handquilted category.

A large number of people stopped by to view the displays over the weeklong show in Gentry. And it took a good number of volunteers, assisting Janie Parks, to make the show a success. Among those volunteers were: Loretta Millsap, Willa Kennedy, Rick Martin, Jo Ellen Martin, Janis Folker, Pat Barnes, Martha Hawkins, Trella Yates, Toni Sarratt and Sue Etris.
