Gentry chamber announces trick or treat event parade

— Gentry’s chamber of commerce announced dates and times for annual events held in the city:

Trick or Treat on Main

The annual Trick or Treat on Main Street will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Halloween, Oct. 31.

Anyone who would like to pass out candy to the many little ghosts and goblins who come out each year may set up a goody table in front of any vacant building on Gentry’s Main Street.

Last year, approximately 1,500 children participated in the event.

Christmas Parade

Gentry’s annual Christmas parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14.

Lineup for the parade will be at 5:30 p.m. at Nelson Feed (formerly Curran Feed) on Main Street, just west of the railroad tracks.

The theme for this year’s event will be Christmas in Arkansas.

There is no pre-registration or entry fee required to participate in the parade.

Prizes of $100 in Gentry Bucks will be given for the best music, best lighting and best theme. An award of $200 in Gentry Bucks will be awarded to the best overall entry in the Christmas parade.

Gentry Bucks can be spent at most Gentry Chamber of Commerce member businesses.
