Editor,
If and when I become the president of the United States of America, I shall issue one executive order on the day I am inaugurated. It will consist of 10 points that should enable the USA to once again become the most respected nation ever known to mankind.
This budget must include measures to reduce our national debt to $0.00 within 10 years.
I, the president, shall have the option of exercising the line-item veto, but I shall not have the option of adding items to the budget provided for my signature.
Failure to produce a budget that will meet these requirements shall result in the following:
Sequester and forfeiture of pay and allowances for members of the Senate and Congress. This sequester shall remain in force until the budget is presented to me and I have signed it. This sequester shall include the funding of their staff and office - in other words, every nickel the taxpayer is providing for their function. No results will equal zero pay.
In my opinion there are two ways to balance the budget and eliminate our national debt within 10 years, reduce spending and increase revenue.
When our elected representatives take their job (public leach) seriously, we should begin to see our international, national and local prestige rise to the level it has achieved in the past. I believe this will enable our workforce once again to become productive members of society, and our jobs will not be offshored. Every item utilized within the United States or a possession should have at least one production facility in the United States capable of producing this item, excluding items only available from geographical regions due to climatic conditions. This nation and our citizens will excel.
Due to space limitations for letters to the editor, I shall have to continue this 10-point executive order of the president in future articles. Still to come are: 1. Sunset clause; 2. Cabinet members; 3. Travel of executive branch; 4. Travel of government personnel; etc.
I appreciate your time and efforts to get me elected to office. All I need now is a PAC and plenty of donations. Any ideas who I can pick for a running mate?
