City urging residents to recycle

GENTRY -- The City of Gentry is reminding its trash customers of the option to recycle many items by using the recycling trailers and the bulky waste disposal service offered to trash customers.

"Recycling saves energy, space and money," a published release states, "so please take advantage of the recycling trailers located behind City Hall (at 101 W. Main). We accept paper, plastic, cardboard and aluminum -- no glass, please. Thanks for recycling."

"Another beneficial service to utilize is the bulky waste disposal. Bulky waste is items too large to be placed in bags. These items include appliances, furniture, mattresses and large toys -- please, no items containing hazardous materials, such as freezers, refrigerators or batteries," the notice states.

The city is urging residents to remember these available services as they begin spring cleaning.
